Omaha Tornado Resources

Please be careful this weekend as you clean up debris from the recent storms.

There are a number of ways you can help in practical ways in communities such as Elkhorn, Omaha, Bennington, Blair, Minden, Lincoln, Treynor and other towns impacted.

You may be looking for ways to get out and help. Here are some places that are already doing just that. You may want to reach out to them to find out when and where your help is needed. More than anything, thanks for praying!

Relevant Community Church in Elkhorn is partnering with Omaha Rapid Response and other churches in the area to be a center for helpers to arrive and receive assignments. Helpful items include:

  • Chainsaws
  • Trucks
  • Trailers to haul debris
  • Brooms
  • Shovels

If you are a trained chaplain, the would invite you to join and help provide comfort.

The Salvation Army in Lincoln and Omaha are already on the ground. More information can be found here.

NEIA Red Cross – The Red Cross has set up emergency shelters at:

  • Common Ground Community Center – 1707 Veterans Dr. Elkhorn, NE 68022.
  • First Lutheran Church – 2146 Wright St., Blair, NE 68008

Other churches to follow for ways to help include:

Businesses are helping too. We know of one that is offering free dog boarding for the dogs of families affected by the storms. Check out Dogtopia of Omaha-West for more.
