3B Homestead near Murdock, NE (Home of The Living Nativity) will be hosting a Celebrate Easter event in March. The stable animals of the homestead (donkeys, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, and many barn cats) and many agricultural items will help tell The Story, from the book of John, of the last week of Jesus’ life before his crucifixion on the cross and his Glorious Resurrection!
There will be hands-on Easter activities in the 1888 barn, such as hammering nails into a cross, playing with baby goats, setting the table for the Lord’s Last Supper, counting coins for Judas, seeing a real crown of thorns, etc. Outside there will be activities around the homestead depending on the weather. If it’s rainy, these activities can be done in your car while driving through the homestead.
It’ll be an untraditional telling of The Story with refreshing educational information, and very fun activities, all done in a unique presentation to keep hands and hearts busy with and around the stable animals.
Sunday, March 17th and Saturday March 23rd will be open to the public. Come anytime between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
During the weekdays, March 18-22, private tours may be scheduled for groups such as homeschools, church groups, confirmation classes, bible study groups, preschools, friend groups, etc. Group sizes must be 15 to 40 people.
There will be two special events on the weekends. Sunday, March 17th, a Ferrier will be here to demonstrate how to care for donkey’s hooves. On Saturday, March 23rd, there will be a Butterfly Release … new life!
