Simeon finally meets Jesus, the Magi visit the bustling Jerusalem marketplace, and the Magi ask Herod some questions. Three prophecies are fulfilled: Isaiah 49: I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. 2 Samuel 7: When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. Numbers 24: I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.

Christmas: Ep 3: And There was Much Rejoicing (3 of 5)

The shepherds finally find Jesus and they share the good news with the rest of Bethlehem. While the good news spreads across the town, Mary, Jesus, and Joseph rest. Jeremiah 23: Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: The Lord is our righteousness. Genesis 28: Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Micah 5: But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from old, from ancient days… And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.

Christmas: Ep 2: Journey to Bethlehem (2 of 5)

Joseph deals with a dilemma, Caesar Augustus creates a new edict, Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem, Jesus is born, and the Heavenly Hosts announce the joyous news about Jesus’ birth to all in Bethlehem. Three prophecies are fulfilled: Isaiah 7: Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 42: I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations. Isaiah 9: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders, and He will be called ‘Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’ Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness form that time on and forever.
